milicevic slavoljub, a.k.a mafie electronique,
wurde in 1980 in belgrad (serbien) geboren. mit seinem besten
freund formte er ein drum n bass duett namens metal2metal. sie
fingen beim lokalen sender “kontakt” ihre eigene
radiosendung an, in der sie drum n bass szene presentierten.
kurz darauf wurden sie resident deejay´s im belgrader
club osds in zemun (belgrad). da ihre sets länger als fünf
stunden dauerten, legte metal2metal das ganze spectrum der drum
n bass musik auf. sie veranstalteten grosse partys in belgrad,
wo sie sowohl heimische, als auch ausländische deejay´s
einluden, unter anderen plankton, markoman, jfb, buschemi &
tm juke. m2m legte in den meisten belgrader underground clubs
auf, wie z. b. dollar, akademija, skc, plastic usw.
anfang 2004, inspiriert vom infusions lied legacy, interessierte
sich mafie electronique für nu school breaks, genauer gesagt,
für mixing electro, progressive house und break beat. 2004
zog er nach wien (österreich), um sein studium dort fortzusetzen
und fing an, seine eigene musik zu produzieren und sich mehr
auf nu school breaks zu konzentrieren. Er legte regelmässig
sowohl solo, als auch im Metal2Metal Duett überall in Serbien,
auf zwei Musikfestivals (Exit und Refract), auch in Slovenien,
Österreich und Croatien auf.
mafie electronique schafft alle diese style zu kombinieren,
mischen und arangieren und zwar auf eine weise, die seine zuhörer
sowohl beeindruckend, als auch amüsant finden. das behaupten
sie wenigstens….
milicevic slavoljub, a.k.a mafie electronique, was born in 1980
in belgrade (serbia). in 2000, he formed a drum n bass duet
with his good friend and named it metal2metal. they have started
off with a show on a local radio station “kontakt”,
in which they presented the drum n bass scene. shortly after
that, they have taken a residency at the osds club in zemun
(belgrade). as their sets had been over five hours long, metal2metal
used to play a whole spectar of drum n bass music. when they
organised larger parties in belgrade, they had an opportunity
to invite other deejay’s, from the country and abroad,
among who were plankton, markoman, jfb, buschemi & tm juke.
m2m had played in most of the belgrade underground clubs such
as dollar, akademija, skc, plastic etc. at the begining of 2004,
inspired by infusion`s song legacy, mafie electronique became
interested in nu school breaks, precisely mixing electro, progressive
house and break beat. in october 2005 he moved to vienna (austria)
to continue his studies, and started making his own music. he
became more focused on nu school breaks as well. he performed
solo and also in metal2metal duet irregulary across serbia,
on two music festivals (exit and refract) and also in slovenia,
austria and croatia.
mafie electronique manages to extract the essence of all
these styles, blending and arranging them in a way that is
both impressive and entertaining to his listeners. so the
